[CNN] Taxpayers would get checks under economic stimulus plan
$600 / $1200 checks == economic stimulus? *SERIOUSLY*?
I’m really not in favor of giving *my* hard earned money (neither I nor my wife would be getting a check) to someone so they can buy a 52” LCD TV or a truckload of beer.
Here’s an idea: let me keep the dough and I may, then, take the family on a vacation to some US destination and have a real impact on that local economy (provided others do the same).
Sounds more like elected officials buying votes.
